Confidentiality rights

All young people, including those under 16, have the right to confidential information, advice and medical treatment. All services listed in this guide are committed to providing a confidential service to young people whilst keeping them safe from serious harm. This means that if a young person talks to any of the services listed in this guide, what is said will not be passed on to anyone else without their permission.

Unless they or another young person, are judged to be in serious and immediate danger. Your right to confidentiality should be explained to you when you first visit any service. If you are unsure, ask.
